What is the New Testament Church?

By Brother Ricky Ricardo Morris

Matthew 16:13-19 - John 17:1-26

As God’s presence filled the old testament tabernacle, and His glory filled the temple (Exodus 40:35) at the time of its dedication (2 Chronicles 5:11-14), so did the Holy Spirit dedicate His church on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:41-47

Scriptural facts; prove the New Testament Church is the church of God.

*       It was build by Jesus Matthew 16:18

*       It was a more perfect tabernacle. Hebrews 9:11

*       It is not a temporal, but a spiritual house. 1 Peter 2:5

*       The foundation and material of this house are described in the word of God Eph 2:20-22; Hebrews 12:22,23

*       As Jesus predicted the Old Temple was destroyed. Matthew 23:38; 24:2; 27;51

*       The New Testament Sanctuary was dedicated on the day of Pentecost Acts 2:2

*       The Church began to immediately grow

Christ is the head of the church having purchased it with His blood. Acts 20:28

*       The church is the body of Christ, and he is the head.  Ephesians 1:22,23

*       Being the head, Christ governs his church.  Isaiah 9:6,7

*       There is no room, nor need for rabbi’s, popes, fathers, lordships, reverends, or district superintendents in his church.  Matthew 23:8-11; Mark 10:42-45

*       Since the builder and head of the church is in heaven it stands to reason that the headquarters are also in heaven
