The Evening Light Reformation

The Opening of the Sixth Seal

12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The Doctrine of Christian unity, the “One Church”, and Holiness has begun to be preached.  This was great epoch in the history of the New Testament Church.  It was a period of  more light and understanding, other than what had previously been give in the Protestant age.  Light and truth began to shine as it did in the morning age, and it continued to increase as the sixth and seventh seal ages come to pass.

In Rev. 6:12-17, here we see the second earthquake mentioned in Revelation, the first one was during the morning time church age, when the first trumpet was blown. Rev. 8:5.  The earthquake is a symbol of a great spiritual awakening, and out-pouring of the spirit of God when truth prevailed again.

In Acts 4th chapter, when the church was together in one place and was praying, the place was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost.  It was a religious awakening and the downfall of the Pagan Roman Empire. The sun and the moon are the symbols of the New and Old Testament.

As the result of the unity of all Christians, the one church that Jesus built, that was was being preached by D.S. Warner, and many other reformers of the sixth seal age, the denominational world, or the Protestants, refused to accept this message, and it brought mourning, a sigh, and their blood was upon their own heads.

This was in 1880 and the work contined for a number of years in this manner.  jWhile denominations as a whole never accepted this truth, individuals from the the many sects and creeds of the denominational world did so and come out embracing the truth of the Church of God and holiness.

Rev. 6:13, “And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”  Those who did not accept it fell as “stars” unto the earth, as a fig tree shed it’s figs before they were ripe when shaken by the wind or before the full truth is ripe, the ministers fell to earthly organizations of man rule.  This took place at this age, and has continued from that time until today.  There are still ministers who have not and will not accept this glorious truth.

Rev. 6:14, And the heavens departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their place.” (Groups and Movements of Men)  The prophecy of this scroll was given in Isa. 34:4.  Mountain and islands moved out of their places is a symbol of groups and movements also.

Rev. 6:15, “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountain.”

  • Kings of the earth – leaders of man made churches, dictators, bosses in churches, and ruled by men, and conferences instead of the Holy Spirit.

  • Hiding in the dens and rocks of the mountains – is not literal.  People do not see to hid today, in the dens and rocks, unless they are cave dwellers, or a fugitive from justice, instead this is a spiritual condition.

  • When more truth began to be preached in 1880, unity, the one church of the Bible, holiness and doctrines pertaining to the evening light message, those who refused to accept this truth and light, sought refuge in the rocks and mountains of Sectism, (denominational churches).

  • Prophecy of the hiding in the mountains – See Jer. 16:16, behold I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them: and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill and out of the holes of the rocks.  Ezekiel also refers to the hunting of the souls of his people.

  • God is busy in these last days, hunting, fishing, the hones souls from the dens of the sectarian hills, and the caves of human rule, and with the help of the truth under the Holy Spirit, He seeks to bring them home to Zion where he can feed them in their own fold.

How God’s people were scattered.

  • The following Scripture is a direct prophetic reference to the divided condition of the denominational world and harmonizes with the same story re-told in the book of Revelation.  See Jer.50:4-6; Jer. 23:1

  • Many honest hungry souls with good intentions have hid themselves in the mountains of Sectism and are dying, or perhaps have already died of the disease of spiritual maluntition. Matt. 4:4.

Rev. 6:16, “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the lamb.”  They are seeking refuge in their own cave, or den of their own doing.  Many are running back into their own denominational dug-out, before they will come out and accept the full truth.  Isa. 28:16-20.

Rev. 6:17, “For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand.  This verse refers to the one hundred years of preliminary judgment of truth. I Peter 4:17, “The time is come that judgment (truth) must began (or start) at the house of God.”—and the house of God is God’s church. 1 Tim. 3:15

The Gathering of God’s People

During this seal age, the strenuous effort of gathering God’s people into the true fold of God in Christian unity was begun. Isa. 27:12,13:

Jer. 3:14; Ezek. 34:11-16, The cloudy and dark day referred to here by the prophet has reference to the cloudy days of Protestantism and the Dark Ages of Papal Romanism.  Jer 3:15, Matt. 4:4, Acts 20:28; John 11:52; 1Cor. 1:10; John 17:21; Eph. 2:14;19.

Unity is one of the Biblical doctrines of the New Testament Church of God.  Zion, or the church was lost sight of during the divided conditions of Protestantism, because of the varied opinions  of men and their creeds.

At that time the two Witnesses (the word and the spirit) were dead, not able to function in the church and you could not expect a divinely organized church as ordered of the Lord, when men disregarded and disobeyed the Word and ignored the Spirit.  As you have learned we speak of the Protestant age from 1530 to 1880, a period of 350 years, known also as the “cloudy day” of denominationalism.

John 10:16, says, “Other sheep I have (Jesus said) which are not of this fold, them I must bring, and there shall be one shepherd and one fold.”  He could have had reference to bringing the Jews into the one fold with the Gentiles and if so, it strengthens the fact that he still wants all his children together in peace in one fold, which is his church Isa 35:10; Isa. 51:11.

  • Where have the ransomed been?

  • How did they get there?

  • They have been scattered in the hills of spiritual Babylon by false shepherds.  They were saved with what light they had, now more light comes and they are being gathered out from all “the places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.  (Ezek.  34:12).

Assembling the Church

  • Webster says, the word “assemble” means: to bring together; to collect the parts into one place or one body, in proper relationship one with other.

  • This very thing, the Lord is doing gathering his saints into one body, “assembling” them from their divided condition in the various denominations of man.

  • Ezek. 11:17, “Thus saith the Lord God, I will gather you from the people, and ASSEMBLE you out of the countries where ye have been scattered.” This is a direct promise in prophecy and is taking place in the sixth and seventh age.  Isa. 11:12; Exek 36:24.

    • We have the word of two of the major prophets, Ezekiel, and Isaiah and both state God is assembling his people.

    • This is the message, not only of the sixth seal, but of the seventh seal also.

1And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 5Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 6Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. 7Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. 8Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand. 9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
