THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST. The Bible teaching concerning the second coming, is the personal coming of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11), which is neither postmillennial nor pre-millennial. At His coming, all the dead shall be resurrected at the same hour, both the righteous and the wicked (Dan 12:2; John 5:28-29; Acts 24:15). Then, all shall receive immortal bodies (I Cor 15:51; I Thes 4:17) and their reward in heaven or their punishment in hell-fire (2 Cor 5:10; Matt 25:31-46). The earth and all temporal elements shall be annihilated (II Pet 3:10-12), Satan and his followers shall be punished in eternal fire (Rev 20:10), and the saints of God shall be with the Lord forever (I Thess 4:17).
The Ascension of
Eternal Life
Coming is used in the Singular Vernacular There are more than one hundred additional scriptures that use the word COMING in the singular vernacular. However! One scripture is as valid as one hundred, for the truth never contradicts itself...IF...it is kept in proper context. There is not a single scripture in the Bible that speaks in the PLURAL about Christ's COMING. Now we beseech you brethren, by the coming of the Lord. 2 Thess 2:1 Preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord. 1 Thess 5:23 What shall be the sign of thy coming. Matt. 24:3 Whom the Lord shall destroy with the brightness of His coming. 2 Thess. 2:8 The coming of the Lord draweth nigh. James 5:8 Be patient therefore brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. James 5:7
The Hope of His Appearing
"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious APPEARING
of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13)
Christ appearing will be visible to all
"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE
HIM, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail
because of him." (Rev.1:7)
The multitudes of people in the world will not be
expecting Christ's return! Only those who have been redeemed by the blood of the
Lamb are, "Looking for that blessed hope and glorious appearing." The return of the Lord Jesus Christ is eminent! It is
that great and solemn event pending! God's people are instructed to, "watch and
Pray and be ready, for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man will appear."
The Last Trumpet
The Last Trumpet 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5;1-11 The Destruction of the Earth and Heavens 1 Peter 3:1-14. The Resurrection
There will be one universal Resurrection The Order of the Resurrection See. 1 Corinthian 15:12-26, 51-58 See. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:1-11 John, the Revelator writes this concerning Jesus Christ's
appearing in the heavens...
The Righteous and the Wicked raised together
These scriptures and many others clearly indicate that ALL
the dead come forth from the land and sea simultaneously. The judgment and the
separation of the righteous and the wicked will be accomplished as ALL meet
before the throne of God. Jesus does not present TWO resurrections here!
This is a bodily Resurrection The whole foundation of the Christian faith stands upon the
fact that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead. This gives assurance to
every true believer, that because He was resurrected, we shall be also. The
future resurrection of the dead is assured by the Apostle Paul's defense given
in the fifteenth chapter of First Corinthians. Eternal Life The Saints are promised Eternal Life John 5:24-29
Eternal Death The Sinner is promised eternal death John 5:24-29
What is the First and Second Resurrection? John 5:24-29 What is Death? The First Death The Second Death
What happens to man at death? Where does his body go? All go to the grave Where does his soul go? The soul of the righteous goes to Paradise The soul of the sinner goes to hell The Grave The Grave is not the end of death The Grave is the door to the after life The Body and the grave Hades What is Hades? The waiting place or locality for souls Where is Hades? The Lower part of the earth Paradise What is Paradise? A Place of blessedness, and intermediate place and rest for souls until the final resurrection. It is called Abrahams Bosom The souls in Hades\Paradise are not sleeping. Where is Paradise? A place in the upper part of Hades which is in the lower part of the earth. Abrahams Bosom Lazarus and the Rich Man Luke 16:19-31 The Thief on the cross Luke 23:43 Jesus Death Matthew 12:40 Jesus Resurrection Acts 2:22-37 Heaven What is Heaven? Gods dwelling place It is called our Fathers House It has many mansions (dwellings). Where is Heaven? Where God is. Heaven is our final home Heaven is not paradise When someone dies, his soul does not go immediately to heaven At the final resurrection of the righteous, we will all go to heaven at the same time. Hell (The Place of Torment) The Rich Mans Testimony Luke 16:19-31 The is not an parable The Souls in Hades\Hell are not sleeping They are very conscious, with all six sense working. The Great Gulf What is the great gulf? A distinct separation of the righteous and the unrighteous The Sinner can see the saints, but saints cant see the sinners The Appointment "God hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained: whereof he hath given assurance to all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
The Word of God is filled with exhortations and
warnings about that great future day of retribution known only to God. The
judgment scene will be a scene like no other!
"For it is written, As I live saith the Lord, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give an account of himself to God." (Romans 14:11-12)
"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all
the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: and
before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from
another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: and he shall set his
sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto
them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Then shall he say also unto
them on his left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels...And these shall go away into everlasting
punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."
"Behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." (Rev. 22:11-12)
"When the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and the glory of his power; when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe....in that day." (2 Thess. 1:7-10) These things are written they we may believe Surely these scriptural truths should be graphic enough
to convince anyone who would hear the voice of the Spirit of God through them.
Why A Judgment?
* To impress upon humanity the perfect righteousness of
God, for He has said, "The soul that sinneth shall die." "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the
Lord." All the forgoing scriptures constitute a demand for a FINAL DIVINE RECKONING before the only true and righteous Judge of the earth. His Name is the Lord God Almighty
Our Heavenly Home Gods Open Door "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that
love him."
Attaining Eternal Life The question was ask of our Lord when He walked among
men..."Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"
In My Father's house are many mansions... if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am there ye may be also." (John14:2-3) This is that "Blessed hope" that every true believer
has fought the fight of faith for throughout their probationary journey on
earth. As the Apostle Paul penned, "If in this life ONLY we have hope in Christ,
we are of all men most miserable."
