Repentance

The bible says, the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth. (Gen. 8:21)  Man at birth is in God's sight unclean. (Job 14:1,4; 15:14; 25:4).  Man is conceived and shaped in sin. (Psa. 51:5)  Man is by nature sinful. (Eph. 2:1-3)  Man possesses an inward bent to evil "from the womb", or "as soon as he is born". (Psa. 58:3).  The power of sin is an element of moral evil; an indwelling, moving, working force.  Rom 7:9-13,17.  The New Testament teaches the Bible truth that sin is an act of rebellion against God (John 15:22; James 4:17; I John 3:4). There is no sin where there is no law of God (Rom 5:13), so one is not a sinner until he obtains knowledge of God's just demands on him and then willfully rebels. The act of sin causes one to forfeit his right to eternal life (Gen 2:17; Ezek 18:20,24; Rom 6:23), and renders him a slave to sin (John 8:34; Rom 6:16). It being true that humanity is sinful by birth and even from conception,  it follows conclusively that the elements that germinate depravity lay in the germ of human life, thus being transmitted down through the entire human family.  Therefore, this degenerate nature must have started in him through whom the human family fell (Rom. 5:12-19.  All men succumb to the powers of sin upon reaching the age of reason and moral responsibility (Rom 3:23; Rom 7:9; I John 1:8-10). All men, therefore, need a Savior (Acts 17:30- 31).

Matthew 1:18-21

The Purpose of the death of Christ is to saved his people from their sins.  So if you profess to be a Christian, and you are bound up in tobacco, alcohol, drugs, lying gambling fornication, adultery, homosexuality or any other filthy habit of the flesh... Turn it over to God.

If you will surrender all to Christ, he will be faithful to deliver you from all these things.

The devil had me hooked on cigarettes for 21 years.  The Devil had me convinced for years that I could never serve God, cause I could never quit smoking, and I just loved smoking my pot, my Rock and Roll/ Heavy Metal music. I was deceived. You see, when you truly get saved, and get hold of God, it's not that you have to quit all these things. But it's that you want to give it all up, because your deepest desire will be to serve, and please God. God would be unfair to require something of you that's not possible. He knows we are weak. The Bible says;
2 Cor. 12:9-10 (KJV)
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. [10] Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Within yourself you can't do these things, but through the power working in you (Christ) you can do it. He will give you the grace to do it. It is through him, and him only, that you can conquer your flesh, which is necessary to live a holy life.
Please do not let anything stand in your way to serving God!

Does Bible teach that Christians do not sin?

What is Sin?

Sin is a willful rebellion against a known commandment of God. First, let us establish that fact that we can and are blessed to live free from sin after being saved:

The purpose of Jesus' coming was to redeem us from all iniquity: Matt 1:21, Luke 1:68-75, Titus 2:14

After being cleansed by the blood of Jesus, it is possible to stay clean: Rom 6:1&6, Rom 8:12, James 1:27, 1 John 5:18, James 2:3, 2 Tim 2:19

"Grace" does not cover over sin, but gives power to live a holy life: Rom 6:1-2, Rom 6:15, Titus 2:11-12, Jude 4

Whoever sins is the servant of sin, not the servant of God: John 8:34-36,  (The Sinner father is the Devil) Matt 6:24, (You cannot Serve two masters) Rom 6:15-22 (Sinners are in slavery).

Those who go back to the sinful ways they repented of lose their salvation: Ezek 33:12-13, Gal 2:16&18, 2 Pet 2:20-22 (For Those who have backslid)

Those who sin cannot see, nor do they really know God: Matt 5:8, Matt 7:23, Heb 12:14, 1 John 1:6, 1 John 2:4, 1 John 3:6, 3 John 11 (They do not have an experience with God)

Whoever loves "the world" does not belong to God: Eph 2:2-3, James 1:27, 1 John 2:15-16 Why? The world crucified Christ, and the world hates the Christ in you.

Those who walk in the Spirit do not walk in the lusts of the flesh: Rom 8:1, Rom 8:4, Rom 8:13,  Gal 5:16, Gal 5:24, 1 Pet 1:14, 1 Pet 2:11

Those who are Christ's are careful to keep their experience undefiled: 1 Cor 9:25-27, (Keep their bodies) 2 Cor 7:1, 2 Pet 3:11, 2 Pet 3:14, 1 John 3:3, 1 John 5:18 (Perfecting Holiness – Holy Conduct – Blameless – Purity – Keeping Ourselves)

Whoever commits sin is being controlled by the devil: John 8:41-44, Eph 2:2, (The spirit of disobedience) 1 John 3:8, 1 John 3:10

We are to follow the example of Christ: 1 Pet 1:15, 1 Pet 2:21-22, 1 John 2:6
(Not the example of a man or someone’s church)

A holy life does not produce sinful fruit: Matt 7:17-18, Luke 6:43, Heb 6:8, James 3:11-12 (Example; of plucking up a tree by its roots)

Those who willingly sin cannot enter heaven: Matt 5:10, John 8:21, 1 Pet 4:18, Rev 21:27.  Also see 1 Corinthian 6:9-11

A Christian is a new creature, old things are passed away: Ezek 36:26-27, 2 Cor 5:17, Gal 6:15.  The Believer’s body becomes God’s temple 1 Corinthian 6:12-20

Salvation brings a heart perfection: Matt 5:48, Heb 7:19, Heb 10:14

Those who love God, keep His commandments: John 14:15, John 14:21, 1 John 2:3-4

The Lord does not give commandments that are impossible to obey: Matt 5:48, John 8:11, 1 Cor 15:34, 1 John 2:1, 1 John 5:3

Note: Give the example of the Airplane, Ship and Submarine.
