Greeting in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:
My name is Brother Ricky Ricardo Morris and I am a System Administrator in the IT department of our company. I am also a Christian who love the Lord with all of my heart, and have a burning desire to see others come to Christ. I first came to the Lord in June of 1975 and through many battles and trials of life I can yet say that it is a wonderful thing to serve Jesus Christ our Lord. He has done so much in my life, that this introduction would become a book, if I shared with you all of his blessing toward me. It has not been easy sometimes, and there have been many battles along the way, some battles won and some lost, but I have not lost the war. I have learned so much over the years through the test and trials of time and I can say it is worth serving Jesus. I would like to take this time and welcome you to the the SMC Bible Study group. We are a bunch of Christians in the workplace lifting up the name of our Savior. When the Lord placed this ideal of a bible study group on my heart, I mentioned it to our CEO and she gave her hand of support to this ideal. I also told a few Christians that I knew at the time of the ideal and asked them to pray. Little did I know that God would take this ideal and make it into something big. After the ideal laid dormant for a few months, in October 2009 the desire began to greatly burn in my heart. My expectations were very small though. I thought that I would get a little meeting room, and hoped that possibly I could maybe get around a dozen attendees to participate. Little did I know that God had something big in mind. With the help of a Christian sister (Ruby Austin) from the Quality Assurance department of our company, we began to ask around to see if anyone would be interested in the study of the bible. To our surprise we got an overwhelming response, for about 60+ people signed up for the class, and the little class room that I had in mind was no longer suitable to hold this large group of folks, so we came up with the ideal to hold the meetings into three (3) separated groups during our lunch hours, and booked a bigger conference room to hold all of us. I can say the Lord has truly provided and met our every need here at SMC. We have men and woman coming to this bible study who are managers, group and team leaders, engineers, machinist, and from other crafts and skills, they come from the central warehouse (CW), the factory, and from our Design group on the administrative side of our new building. They come from all walks of life and we are able to sit down together and feast on the word of God. There are some who come that doesn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but they are seeking to know more about salvation and the life of Christ. This is truly amazing how God took control of that little desire and has turned it into a spiritual revival here at SMC Corporation of America. We are among one of largest corporate bible study groups in the nation. God is moving in the workplace and extending his presence in every facet of men lives. We need the prayers of all believers that God would continue to bless our study groups and continue to give us growth with the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
