The Third Trumpet

A.D. 530 to A.D. 1530

 10And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as if it were a lamp, and it fell upon a third part of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters;

11and the name of the star is called Wormwood. And a third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

During the sounding of the trumpet of this trumpet age, We see a Great Star fall from heaven, burning as a lamp, and it fell upon a third part of the rivers, and fountains of waters.  Some minister have preached that this trumpet was during the time period 1530 to 1730, and their charts show no trumpet being blown during the time of the dark ages.  But if we look a little, and consider the conditions of that time, we will agree that God has always had a people, a church, and a message going forth in every age.  They may have had to hide in secret and worship God, but Jesus has always had a message for his people, the church of God.

This Great Star is referred to as the gospel of Christ, The Light of his word.  Matthew 4:16 says, the people who sat in darkness saw a great light.  and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.  And verse 17 says, From that time Jesus began to preach, and say “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  This scripture refer to the gospel light, Christ is the light of his word.

A great star falling would symbolize the gospel light being taken from the people, the fact that it fell from heaven shows us that the Gospel Light was no longer visible for the people to see.  The Roman Catholic Church during this time, took the bible from the people, and chained it to the pulpits.

When the light was fallen from its heavenly position, it affected the 1/3 of the rivers and fountain of waters (the people).  Instead of it being a great light, the word was made wormwood, (like a bitter plant), the light became bitter unto the people and began to kill them. See Amos 6:5. The Roman Catholic Church turned God’s judgments to wormwood, it was like a bitter plant unto the people.  They left off the righteousness of God, and instituted their own righteousness in the earth.
