The Second Seal

3And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

The color red represents sin (Isa 1:18), iniquity.  The bible describes sin as being red like scarlet or crimson.  The effects of this red horse (i.e. the spirit of iniquity) was devastating near the latter end of the morning time church age.  many left their first love.  Rev. 2:1-5.  Christ would have preserved them, but their love had waxed cold.  Matt. 24:12,13.  Jude said certain men in their midst crept in unaware. They succumbed to thoughts and ideas of their surrounding society.  Pagan ideas began to creep in and the some went down but in spite of the opposition some stood true.

Power was given to the red horse to take peace from the earth.  We have the peace that salvation brings, don’t we?  Eph. 2:14; Phil. 4:7.  This red horse power which worked through those that compromise tried to cause souls to succumb to a perverted gospel.  Those who did so lost the peace of God out of their souls.  The rider was given a great sword, they began to fight and kill one another.  Instead of consolidating all their efforts against the devil they began to fight one another and divisions were cause.  The very spirit of preeminence prevailed. And the humble equality of the ministry was lost.  It was Pastoral Preeminence that developed into Popery.  3 John 9111; Gal. 1:6-8.

A perverted gospel confuses and trouble the spirit.  It causes one to turn aside from that which is good, true, or morally right.  It corrupts and twists the meaning or sense of the pure doctrine.  Rev. 2:2.  i.e., the bible says Philetus and Hymenaus were liars in that they perverted the truth concerning the resurrection.  2 Tim. 2:16-18.  Gal. 3;1 gives another red horse doctrine.  Keep in mind those who compromised because of sin in their hearts, had a great sword (the bible) a perverted the gospel.  Some were bewitched by the false doctrine of circumcision, and went back to the flesh.  This red horse power made way for the black horse.
